really excited to be home in like 4 more days and tear up the roads in rockland and bergen running and biking... gonna be fun

marriage

so i was having some thoughts that needed to be blogged.

I know marriage is an institution of God. so therefore a lot of Christians feel uncomfortable and wrong during premarital sex and a lot of non-christians dont (not saying there isnt a crossover). so i feel like a lot of marriages dont work out because what is being enjoyed outside of marriage that isnt supposed to be, doesnt have the appeal in marriage that its supposed to. This is a little confusing, so im trying to say take non christian couple A. they had sex all the time then got married, so it doesnt have the appeal that God meant it to in marriage and this couple is totally missing out on the true essence of sex because they never truly enjoyed it the right way. Now the husband cant stand the wife because he likes other bids and shes flipping out cuz he doesnt listen or care and she needs a new man.

i want to enjoy everything in God's context and just because i cant see him i know hes there and hopefully i wont screw up anymore and i will be obiedient and reep what i sow in a good way.

long time

so its been two months since i made a post on this guy... two months exactly. well back by popular demand... i only have about two weeks left in the semester and it's time to start cranking down for finals. i am working on my final papers as well, and to be honest there were times where i didnt think i would make it this semester, but I am def am going to and with pretty good grades actually. im really excited to come home and finish out the rest of my fundraising for the bike trip. I am also trying to read the bible everyday and have a friend on my back about doing that. i have realized that i have done a really horrible job of seeking out God in the past full year and just wait for something magical to happen. I do a really great job at "trying" not to sin, but never actually end up successful if that makes any sense.

but yeah i am about to sign up for my first triathlon, i am nervous because i am not a great swimmer, but i am practicing really hard so hopefully that goes well. i really wanna win lol.

o and yeah my dad was supposed to come visit me but he blew me off for a bid... why is it like hes in college and im an old man?

so i have really settled in here at jmu and have a pretty sweet core group of friends. i dont have a really tight friend that i have back home but its all good and i cant expect that right away u know. I am excited about going home to chill in like two weeks. i have been applying for a ton of jobs to keep my options open for next semester and doing a ton of schoolwork, but learning a lot

the one thing i wanna really step my game and work on is the intimate relationship with God that i am seeking because i realized i wasnt seeking it as much as i should be

I had a discussion today in my small group about how mens relationships with each other cannot offer certain things that a relationship with a female could provide all physical aside. I really do not agree wit that because I have had so many close relationships with dudes that have offerred me a lot in my life. i have been getting pretty close with my group so i hope i can chill with them friday night and relax before rugby and saturday and when christina comes.

I am continuing to walk with and rely on God and that is going to be tested but if i trust in Him i know ill do fine

i feel like really renewed right now being here at jmu. I feel like im in a great place figuratively because I am really living for God and a lot of negative things do not really have a hold on me anymore. it feels really great i really feel alive in his presence and maybe ready to venture out again and share that with other people.

work at the library is really sweet, i am in overdrive not taking any risks getting my hw done... i you will def hear back from me about academics

interesting

So i have a couple of new interesting things to report on.

1) I was feeling a little overwhelmed on this new rugby team, because there are a lot more talented guys than the willy p team. I would say the top 15 players on each team are really close in skill but JMU has like 30 decent players so it is a deeper team. Its an unfamiliar team to me so i didnt yet have the social aspect to it as WP rugby, but i was the only player on my team to score in the scrimmage today and it was on a really long run to with a spin move mixed in, it felt really good. first game feb 7 against UVA.

2) I start my job on campus on Wed. I am working media services in the lib so i can read and stuff almost the whole shift, very cool

3) I have a buttload of work now being a grad student. It is not as much tests as papers and I have two huge papers due around spring breakish which are going to involve like 10 sources each and prob be about 15 pages in length, so crazy. I am going to start very soon and be doin my thing. wish me luck

Weekend

So i had a pretty good weekend. It started by getting a job at the library at the media services desk which is actually pretty sweet. I met some cool new people at christian fellowship and I am going to the basketball game with a few of them tonight for 1 dollar hot dog night. I have been breaking my bike out a bit which is pretty cool. Also, I have been trying to raise more money for my bike ride. By monday i should be at least a quarter of the way there. ill be in touch

Hey... so I have applied for a job a million places it seems and i havent been able to come down with anything as of yet. I am hoping something comes through, but if not I am feeling pretty comfortable not having fun because this has happened before. When i was at wpu there was a time where I wasnt getting any of the jobs I applied for and then all of a sudden I got the two best jobs on campus at once that helped me really flourish and grow as a person. So I am hoping the same will happen but I am trusting in God that whatever direction he takes me in will be best for me.

Also i really gotta start raising money for this cycling trip.

New friends

Today was pretty sweet, i did a lot of cool stuff in my theory of weight management class including a sweet lab that has a very involved lab report. And it was the first day of rugby practice which looks pretty promising. Tommorrow is the first practice on the field so that is going to be really fun. Hopefully i can run circles around those guys to like at Willy P. Also, I met some great new friends at the small group bible study i went to. Really a great group of guys, continuing to show me that God really sent me here for a reason to allow me to grow in many different facets of life.

Sweet MLK 5k

so there was a 5k on campus today for MLK celebration week and i won, it was pretty cool. i beat this kid on the final turn... it was awesome actually. but yeah i hung out with a few kids last night, went to christian fellowship and played some N64. Christian fellowship here is huge and really exciting. i am going to join a small group on thursday nights and theres a sweet conference. i feel like i am going to really grow spiritually here. ill let u guys know about other sweet weekend happenings later on.

sooo... today was thursday and i was chillen on campus between class and the weight room from like 9am to like 1pm and then i chilled in my apartment all night watchin tv and reading my sweet tony dungy book from the library downstairs. Tommorrow is the big interview at hollister and ill update with the results. Or u might just know the result if you see me decked out in hollister sometime soon. It is like 5 degrees outside so i am in for the night. Rugby meetin and practice next week followed by the intramural bowling meeting on monday. Hopefully i will have work soon to fill up some of this free time.

Cancelled

so my job interview was postponed today and reschedueled for Friday so I will have to wait it out. I got a message that there is a rubgy meeting on Sunday so I'm gonna hit that up. I got this sweet book from the library so I have been reading that as well. Also, I am finishing unpacking slowly. This has been my easiest transition so far considering I have been to college once and as a freshman and once as a transfer before this. I have been keeping a lot of contact with people from home which has been good for me.

i went to the bike shop downstairs and the guy gave me a map to get to the trail in town to ride my mountain bike. It's like 10 degrees warmer here than NY so I am getting my road bike ready for action again. Hopefully i get the job at hollister so i can make some upgrades.

Southern Hospitality

So I just moved into school at JMU and while I am not as socially active as I was at WP it's been pretty fun and exciting so far. I live in an apartment a mile off campus and there is a lot of cool stuff basically downstairs from my room. There is a library and a bike shop across the street as well as my bank. It's really convienient. My classes are fun so far and I met a few people in class that seemed pretty cool.

I have a really important job interview to be a manager at Hollister tommorrow and I feel like I really need the job so I can live and especially eat more comfortably. I'll let you know what happens with the interview in the next post. Thanks for the takin the time to read.
